Hundred years ago Francis Poulenc, one of the most famous French composers was born. His imposant work in all the fields, operas, oratorios, chamber music, has given an important place to the piano, virtuoso and humoristic instrument.

All these young pianists coming from the whole world discovered the typically French F. Poulenc’s spirit. This is the double aim of this competition : helping the young performers and letting them discover a virtuoso and eloquent side of this important composer.

The four parts, first round in Tulle, semi-final and recital final in Brive, final concerto in Limoges will select the three great prizes, three virtuosos, three music’s messengers, three heires of an effective patrimony which is the time’s reflect and the link beetwen two millenniums.
